And she’s gone.
It started as an Anycubic Chiron; a large 450mm cubed print area beast. It is big, it is loud, it is slow and it is ugly. That is, it was until I got it on my bench. Its antiquated Trigorilla board with featureless stepper drivers were pulled out in favour of an SKR 1.4 with TMC2209 drivers, utilizing StallGuard and sensorless homing. Its bowden style extruder was replaced with a geared dual drive direct feed extruder, it’s V5 hot end was replaced with a high flow Volcano hot end and its ugly LCD screen was replaced with a shiny new BTT TFT24. I morphed it from a giant ugly beast to a giant ugly fast beast.
Now she’s gone. Left the building. Moved on to a another relationship… to a new home as a friend’s first 3D printer!
(I’d never tell her this, but I wanted her to leave and make room for the new Voron!)
